Anne M. Mulligan

June 10, 1931 - July 18, 2000

Anne Marie "Nan" Mulligan, 69, was born on June 10, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was raised on Long Island, N.Y. After a brief and valiant struggle, Nan succumbed to the ravages of ovarian cancer on July 18, 2000.

Nan was an honors graduate of Saint Agnes High School in Rockville Center, N.Y., and of St. Joseph's College in Emmitsburg, Md., where she met and later married her husband Frank. For most of their married life they made their home in South Bend, Ind., where she was a long-term and very active member of the Christ Child Society.

She is survived by her husband, a resident of Englewood, Fla., and Holland, Mich.; a daughter, Joanne Yeakley of Encinitas, Calif.; sons, Tom of Fairway, Kan., and Bill of Holland; a brother, Richard Barnes of Redondo Shores, Fla.; and by 10 grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the Notre Dame campus by Rev. James L. Riehle, C.S.C. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
