SOUTH BEND -Mary J. Myers, 91, residing in South Bend, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in her home. She was born September 21, 1916 in Mishawaka to John & Lulu (Willard) Klatt, and has remained a lifelong resident of Mishawaka-South Bend.

On September 22, 1934 in Mishawaka, as Mary Klatt, she was united in marriage to Melvin Myers. Together, they enjoyed nearly sixty-two years of marriage until his passing on July 28, 1996. Mrs. Myers is survived her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn & Phil Spencer of Mishawaka, her son and daughter-in-law, Russell & Shirley Myers of Mesa, AZ; and four grandchildren, Deborah (Jeff) Oakley, Lynn (Bill) Brown, Mark (Tonya) Myers, and Douglas (Susan) Coddens. Eight grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, a sister, Gertrude (Raymond) Cooper of Mesa, AZ, and a brother, Ed (Gladys) Klatt of Mishawaka, survive Mary as well. Mrs. Myers was a member of Calvary Temple, South Bend.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time today at the funeral home.
