Mildred L. Nash

Sept. 18, 1917 - Feb. 24, 1998

NILES - Mildred L. Nash, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Lakeland Continuing Care Center, Berrien Center, Mich. Mrs. Nash was a resident of Niles, Mich.

She was born in Jasonville, Ind., on Sept. 18, 1917, to Sherman and Cleo (Cox) Borders.

On Feb. 10, 1936, she married Carlton V. Nash in Sullivan, Ind. Mr. Nash preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Nash was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Darrell C. Borders; and by a grandson, James C. Nash, Jr.

She is also survived by three sons, James Nash of Niles, Jack Nash of Titusville, Fla., and Jeffery Nash of Niles; three brothers, Emery Borders of Sullivan, Ind., Sherman Borders of North Liberty, Ind., and Wilbur Borders of South Bend, Ind.; two sisters, Margaret Gerlash of South Bend and Trudy Carpenter of Jasonville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and by 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nash was employed by the South Bend Public Library, retiring in 1989.

She was also a member of the North Side Assembly of God. Rev. Ed Mehaffie will conduct services at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
