Otto R. Naugle

Otto R. Naugle, 82, of State Road 2, in South Bend, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Memorial Hospital. Otto was born on Jan. 29, 1920, in West Terre Haute, Ind., to Orlie R. and Dorothy Inez (Smith) Naugle, who have both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alma Sutherland.

 

On Aug. 30, 1953, in Terre Haute, Otto married Eva M. Bemis. Otto leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 48 years; his son, Keith A. Naugle and his wife, Sandy of South Bend; his daughter, Pamla S. Wardwell and her husband, John of Homer, La.; and four grandchildren, Jared Naugle, Ayla Naugle, Brittany Saunders, and Todd Piechocki and his wife, Julie.

 

Otto was a graduate of Fayette High School, class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 when he was honorably discharged. He received a Purple Heart, and was a lifetime member of D.A.V. in Elkhart #19. Otto worked for Studebaker for several years and then worked for American General from which he retired in 1985.

 

Friends may visit from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Pastor Nathaniel Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
