Anton Charles Negri III

Anton Charles Negri III, 68, of West 13th Street, Mishawaka, passed away at 9:24 p.m. on Monday, July 24, after a long battle with cancer, at home surrounded by family. Anton was born on April 15, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to Anton C. Negri Jr. and Edna Marie VondenBosch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton in December 1978, and Edna in December 1996; and a daughter, Nicole Negri on Dec. 9th, 2002.

 

Surviving Anton are a daughter, Anne Marie (Tom) Negri-Budzinski of Granger; a son, Anton (Maribeth) Negri IV of Katy, TX; a brother, Richard (Barb) Negri of Mishawaka; and five grandchildren, Stephen, Nicholas, Adelina, Victoria and Alexis; and special friend, Gloria Grabner. Anton was a 1956 Mishawaka High School graduate. He was a United States Army veteran, 29 months U.S. Army Security Agency, and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Downers Grove, IL.

 

Family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. today, July 27, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with military honors by the VFW Post 360 burial squad. Contributions may be made in memory of Anton to the American Cancer Society for prostate cancer research.
