MISHAWAKA - Hilma A. Nelson, 83, of Burlington Court, died about 6 p.m. today in her home after an illness. Mrs. Nelson was a retired seamstress. She was born May 1, 1910, in Walcott, N.D., and lived in South Bend for 52 years, coming from North Dakota.

 

On Oct. 7, 1935, in Sissiton, S.D., as Hilma A. Anderson, she married Axel Nelson. He survives with a daughter, Jeanine Becker of South Bend; two sons, Charles of Mishawaka and Donald of South Bend; eight grandchildren; five sisters, Maybelle Wenger of Mishawaka, Arlene Nowak of Fort Collins, Colo., Marian Owen of Mansfield, Ohio, and Elaine Nicklaus and Doris Berg, both of Fargo, N.D.; and five brothers, Palmer Anderson and Marvin Anderson, both of Fargo, Lyle Anderson of Granger, and James Anderson and Jarvis Anderson, both of South Bend. She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, South Bend.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend.

MISHAWAKA - Services for Hilma A. Nelson, 83, of Burlington Court, who died at 6 a.m. Monday in her home, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Evangelical Covenant Church, South Bend. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
