Fred H. Nieter, aged 69, of 929 South 32nd Street, died of a heart attack at 3 p.m. Wednesday while en route to St. Joseph Hospital in a city ambulance.

 

He collapsed in the River Park Café, 3019 Mishawaka Avenue. The family reported he had been under medical care for several months for a heart ailment.

 

He was born in Garnavillo, Ia., March 19, 1880 and came here 50 years ago. He was a retired plaster contractor.

 

He was married 48 years ago to Miss Rose Michles, who survives. Other survivors are four sons, Cyril F., Jack, Melvin, all of South Bend, and Robert, of Glendora, Calif.; two brothers, Almore Nieter, of Englewood, Calif., and Edward, Michigan City, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Day, of Lacrosse, Wis.

 

Friends may call in the Hollis Chapel after 7 p.m. today until funeral services there at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Carl E. Bosse, pastor of River Park Methodist Church, will officiate.

 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial park.
