MISHAWAKA - John H. ''Jack'' Nieter, 88, of West Lawrence Street, died about 6:15 p.m. Sunday in his home after an illness.
Mr. Nieter retired in 1965 as a plasterer and cement mason. He was born July 14, 1906, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.
On Dec. 24, 1942, in South Bend, he married Beulah Briese. She died in 1982. He is survived by three nieces, Jackie Nieter and Carroll Gould, both of South Bend, and Rose Mary Davis of Vandalia; and three nephews, Edward and Jon, both of South Bend, and Fred of Warsaw.
He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 303 and Operative Plasterers & Cement Mason Union Local 101.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
