John E. Noble

July 10, 1903 - Feb. 16, 2000

John E. "Kelly" Noble, 96, of Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, died at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Kelly was a retired metal lather in South Bend for many years.

He was born on July 10, 1903 in New York City and had lived in South Bend since 1907. On Feb. 24, 1925 in South Bend, he married Freda G. Spitler who died on April 13, 1983.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia DeClercq and Norma J. Kovach, both of South Bend; a son, Kenneth G. Noble of South Bend; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Noble, on April 7, 1945.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in City Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. John was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
