Virginia P. Nolton

Virginia P. "Ginny" Nolton, 79, of Granger, Ind., died at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, in Valley Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev., with her daughter at her side. She was born on March 3, 1923, to Mary (Cicero) and Nunzio Parrino in Chicago, Ill. She was preceded in death by Charles F. Nolton, whom she married on Sept. 10, 1949. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Mary Anne (Juan) Galvan, and by her grandson, Christopher, both of Granger, Ind. She was a graduate of Waller High School, Chicago, and Bryant & Stratton Business College, and attended Northwestern University. She was a staff accountant for Charles F. Clark, Inc., in Chicago for many years. She was co-owner of Red Arrow True Value hardware store in Coloma, Mich., and was a senior layout artist for the Zenith Corporation in St. Joseph, Mich. Ginny was most recently employed with Wal-Mart from 1995 until her death. She was a doting grandmother, devoted mother and mother-in-law. She enjoyed playing the organ, horseback riding at Jack and Jill Ranch, and spending time with her family and friends. Ginny was always quick with a kind word and encouragement for those less fortunate. She will be remembered for her graciousness in the face of adversity, the love for her family, and enduring faith in God.

 

A Christian Rite of Burial Mass will be on Saturday, Nov. 23, in St. Pius X Catholic Church at 10 a.m. where friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place, and entombment will be at Northshore Memory Gardens, Benton Harbor, Mich. McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
