Chesterine M. Norton, 71, of East McKinley, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. She was born on Oct. 10, 1928, in Maine, and had lived here since 1960, coming from Maine.

Chesterine was employed with Associates Corporation of North America before the company relocated to Texas. She retired from Ziker Cleaners in 1994, having served different locations as the store clerk. One of Chesterine's favorite pastimes was reading. She is survived by a special friend, Katherine Kern of Mishawaka.

Chesterine had requested that there be no services upon her death, and that cremation take place.

The Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.
