Joseph Novak: (Michigan City News Dispatch)  TRAIL CREEK — Joseph J. Novak, 74, Trail Creek, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday (March 31, 2000) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Queen of All Saint’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Yadron officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, with full military services conducted by VFW Post 2536. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. Mr. Novak was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Michigan City, to John and Lena Zabora Novak. On June 5, 1948, in Chicago, he married Irene Kucharski, who survives. Survivors also include one daughter, Sharon Novak, Chicago; three sisters, Alice Wroblewski, Otis, and Mary Zubik and Helen Trost, both of Michigan City; and one brother, Lawrence Novak, Michigan City. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra and Karen Novak; one brother; and four sisters. Mr. Novak served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired after 31 years as a supervisor at NIPSCO. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, VFW Post 2536 and Moose Lodge 980.
