Paul J. Novak

Paul J. Novak, 58, of Mercury Drive, Granger, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., as the result of a tragic accident. Paul was a loving husband and father, devoted to his family, and he gave of himself to others through the Organ Donor Program. Paul was born on May 10, 1946, in South Bend. He graduated from Central High School, attended I.U.S.B., and had been a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

 

On July 20, 1979, he married the former Florine Tordi in St. Bavo Catholic Church. He is survived by Florine, his wife of 25 years, and their three children, Mia Novak, attending Saint Mary's College, Gina Novak, attending Ball State College, and Dominic Paul Novak at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Victoria (Ken) Kuhn of Felton, Mich., and Louise Williams of South Bend; his in-laws, Ceaser Tordi, Bob and Sue Tordi, Ronny and Denny Maggioli; and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

Paul had been employed by the SHURflo Pump Company since September 1975. For over 29 years he served as a regional sales manager. He was active in the RV and Marine, Industrial, and Beverage groups, and received many sales awards for his dedication and efforts. Paul also played an active part in the planning and development of the SHURflo facility in Elkhart, Ind. He covered accounts during his career that covered over two-thirds of the United States.

 

Friends and family may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, Ind., where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, in St. Pius X in Granger, with Rev. William Schooler officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Contributions in memory of Paul may be made to the Novak Children's Memorial Trust at St. Joseph Capital Bank, 1820 Edison Lakes Parkway, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
