Mrs. Mary Nowacki

October 27, 1867 - November 15, 1946

 

Mrs. Mary Nowacki, aged 79, of 213 South Walnut Street, died at 2pm Friday in St Joseph Hospital after an illness of six weeks.

 

Born in Slupy, Poland, October 27, 1867, she came to South Bend from that country on February 6, 1890.  Her husband, Peter Nowacki, died here May 3, 1936.  Surviving are four sons, Frank, Sylvester, Alexander and Casimir Nowacki, all of South Bend; three daughters, Mrs. Stella Schultz, of Detroit MI, and Mrs Bertha Jaworski and Mrs. Harriet Gillen, both of South Bend; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

 

Friends will be received in the home after 6pm today.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Tuesday in St Hedwig's Catholic Church.  REv. Boleslaus J. Sztuczko,CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Funeral Notes

A requiem High Mass for Mrs. Mary Nowacki, of 213 South Walnut Street, who died Friday, will be chanted at 10am Tuesday in St Hedwig's Catholic Church by Rev. John S. Hosinski, of Medaryville IN, her cousin.

 

The pallbearers will be her nephews, Peter, John & Clement Walkowiak, John & Chester Slomski and Richard Szkielka.  Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
