Therese "Terri" Nowak, 40, of Huron Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 18, 1959, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Nowak was employed by the South Bend Medical Foundation. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Stopczynski.

On Sept. 22, 1979, as Therese Stopczynski, she married Kurt Nowak, who survives. She is also survived by a son, Matthew Nowak at home; her father, Benny Stopczynski of South Bend; a sister, Julie (Jim) Lidgard of New Carlisle, Ind.; and by two brothers, Rich (Cindi) Stopczynski and Ed (Donna) Stopczynski, both of South Bend.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, in Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
