SOUTH BEND - Marie R. Nowatka, 75, of
Hartzer Street, died at 7:55 p.m. Monday in her home after an
illness. Mrs. Nowatka was born May 23, 1919, in South Bend and
was a lifelong area resident.
On May 25, 1937, in South Bend, as Marie R. Rozewicz,
she married Richard J. Nowatka. He survives with three daughters,
Diane Eichorst of Joliet, Ill., Gail Boggs of
Leesburg and Cynthia Sears of Bremen; a son, Richard D. of
Peru, Ill.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a
sister, Gladys Kurdys of South Bend; and a brother, Joseph
Rozewicz of South Bend.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday
in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
