Daniel Nowicki, 67, of South Sheridan Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the University of Chicago Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1933, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Nowicki retired from Mohawk Doors in 1997. He was preceded in death by his father, George Nowicki, and a sister, Georgianne Nowicki.

Mr. Nowicki is survived by his mother, Mamie (Zarobinski) Nowicki of South Bend; two sons, Tom (Crystal) Nowicki of Nokomos, Fla., and George (Cindy) Nowicki of San Jose, Calif.; two granddaughters, Cory and Brooke Nowicki of San Jose; a sister, Loretta Micek of Pensacola, Fla.; and by a brother, Eugene (Marcie) Nowicki of North Liberty, Ind. Mr. Nowicki was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #9820, American Legion Bendix Post #284, and the Northern Fisherman Club.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, in the funeral home, with burial to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
