Louis J. Nowicki, 62, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an illness at 6:38 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, at Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1936, in South Bend, to Lawrence and Agatha Nowicki, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Godfried Nowicki.

He is survived by his three daughters, Sherrie Sicks, Tammy Briggs and Karen Nowicki, all of Mishawaka; his foster daughters, Gypsy Rose Stanton and Michelle A. Stanton, both of Mishawaka; his sister, Emma Wichlacz of South Bend; and by his brothers, Bernard Nowicki of South Bend, Anthony Nowicki of New Carlisle, Ind., and Thaddeus Nowicki of Valparaiso, Ind.

Mr. Nowicki was retired from Uniroyal Corporation after 35 years and 5 months. He then worked in the mail room in the Hesburgh Library at the University of Notre Dame.

Services for Mr. Nowicki will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
