Arthur E. Odor: (South Bend Tribune 6/14/1987)


Arthur E. Odor, 90, of 725 E. Woodside St., died at 3 a.m. Saturday in Medco Nursing Center after an illness. He had worked for many years in a supervisory capacity in construction. Born May 13, 1897, in Aurora, Ill., he lived here most of his life, coming from Aurora. On Sept. 21, 1920, in South Bend, he married Blanche C. Nowicki, who died Oct. 28, 1982. Surviving are two daughters, Doris Rutkowski and Gladys VanDePutte both of South Bend; a son, Jerry A. Olden, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Sands of Phoenix, Ariz., and Frances Killilea of South Bend; and two brothers, Oscar Odor of South Bend and William Ode of Phoenix. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Matthew’s Cathedral, of which he was a member. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew’s Parish School.
