Sister Mary Angelista O’Hara CSC

Sister Mary Angelista CSC, 76, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, who was a former teacher at St. Joseph Grade School, South Bend, died Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a short illness. She was born Margaret Helen O’Hara on July 13, 1893 in Largo, Ind., and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1915. She received the holy habit in December 1915 and mad her profession of vows in 1917. She taught in schools in Indiana and Illinois, and in Davenport, Iowa. From 1917 1925 she taught at St. Joseph School in South Bend, and from 1925 to 1932 at St. Paul’s School in Los Angeles. She had resided at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent since 1967. She was a cousin of the late Cardinal John O’Hara CSC. The body was taken today to St. Mary’s Convent on the St. Mary’s College campus.

 

Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both on the campus.
