Sister M. Teresa Carmel CSC, 81, died Saturday afternoon in St. Mary’s Convent after a lengthy illness. Born on July 16, 1894 in Marion as Helen Marie O’Hara, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Jan. 29, 1920. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1920 and professed hervows on Aug. 15 1922. She was an elementray school teacher from 1920 to 1948 in Anderson, Ind. and Illinois and Utah. In 1848 she was assigned to clerical duties at St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend, remaing there until 1968, when she moved to Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent. She had lived in St. Mary’s Convent since 1970. Survivors include a brother, Rev. Frank O’Hara CSC of Holy Cross House at Notre Dame.

 

Services will be at 1:30 p Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
