Sister Mary Denyse O’Leary CSC

Sister Mary Denyse CSC, 66, of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, died Friday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, following a long illness. She was transferred last month from Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Springs to Saint Mary’s Convent. Born in 1901 in New York City, she entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1921; received the habit in 1922; and made her profession of vows in 1924. She had been missioner in Anderson, Ind.; Morris and Peoria, Ill.; Lancaster, Pa.; Austin, Tex.; San Francisco, Calif.; Alexandria and Norfolk, Va.; Greenbelt, Baltimore and Riverdale, Md.; New York City; and Washington DC.

 

The requiem high mass will be held at 7:10 a.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery there. Friends may call until 8 p.m. tonight and Sunday in the convent parlor.
