SOUTH BEND - Jess L. Onderdonk, 57, of South Bend, passed
away September 5, 2008. Born July 12, 1951, he was the son of
Howard C. and Zelma Janett Onderdonk. His mother preceded
him in death along with two brothers, Robert and James Rex
Onderdonk; grandmother, Elsie Hazel Doyle; and two
grandsons who died in infancy, Dustin L. and Taylor R. Onderdonk.
On July 1, 1972, Jess married Judith (Watkins) Onderdonk,
who survives of South Bend. He is also survived by a son, Jessie
D. (Alana Best) Onderdonk of Elkhart; daughters, Angel M. and
Stacey L. Onderdonk of South Bend; a sister, Linda L. Marek
of South Bend; brothers, LaMonte (Howard) and Ricky Onderdonk,
both of South Bend; and two granddaughters. He worked for Scott
Brass in Mishawaka for 17 years. Jess had many hobbies including
fishing, mushroom hunting, powwows, making dream catchers,
barbecuing in the backyard, playing cards, and being with his
grandkids and family.
A memorial service will be held at 438 S. Pulaski on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, from 3 to 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judith Onderdonk Trust, in care of the Wells Fargo Bank, 382 W. Cleveland Road.
