Harry C. Ornat: (South Bend Tribune 11/7/1983)

Harry C. Ornat, 65, of 426 S. Kentucky St., died at 4:55 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph’s Medical Center after an extended illness. He was retired from Imagineering Enterprises Inc. Born in South Bend on July 24, 1918, he lived here all his life. On April 21, 1945, in South Bend, he married the former Helen Nowacki. She survives along with a son, Gerald Ornat of South Bend; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Sylvester of South Bend and Aloysius of Florida. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Eugene J. Kazmierczak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 39.
