LAKEVILLE - Francis Ostrowski, 87, of Patnaude Lane, died at 12:25 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mr. Ostrowski retired in 1966 from Uniroyal Plastics Co., Mishawaka, after 40 years of service. He was born Oct. 10, 1908, in Masteth, N.Y., and lived in Lakeville most of his life. On Feb. 19, 1934, in Mishawaka, he married Leah M. Jansen. She died Feb. 11, 1995. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Richardson of Mishawaka and Frances Toth of South Bend; two sons, John of Cassopolis and Tomas of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Nicolini of Mishawaka. He was past president and vice president of the former Kosciusko Club, Mishawaka, and in 1935 received the Legion of Honor Award for heroism from the Mishawaka Lions Club.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Cremation will take place, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, Chicago.
