Mary V. Pacay, 76, of Sussex Drive,
South Bend, Ind., passed away on Thursday evening, May 28, in St.
Joseph's Medical Center. She retired in 1977 from RACO. Born on
Aug. 3, 1921, in South Bend, she remained a lifelong resident.
On Aug. 4, 1943, as Mary V. Sokol,
she married John L. Pacay, who preceded her in death on Feb. 17,
1960. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Michael) Manzuk
of Osceola, Ind. and Jenniene Pacay of Mishawaka, Ind.; a son,
John (Barbara) Pacay of Highland Park, Ill.; five grandchildren,
Michael, Jr. and Mark Manzuk, Ashley Davis and Jerome and Jamie
Pacay; a sister, Irene Fershin of Santa Ana, Calif.; and
by two brothers, Alex Sokol of Indianapolis, Ind. and Carl Benko
of Burton, Mich.
Mrs. Pacay was a member of St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. John
the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Terry Place officiating.
Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in
the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish
vigil will be held at 3 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to St.
John the Baptist Church.
