Angelo Paiano

Angelo Paiano, 92, of Michigan Ave., Mishawaka, died at 3:40 a.m. on Thursday August 11, 2005, in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility.

 

Angelo was born March 9, 1913, in Oppido Mamertina Reggio Calabria, Italy to Giuseppe and Caterina (Catanzarite) Paiano. They preceded him in death, along with two sisters, Filomena Calderone and Maria Rustico; one brother, Giuseppe Paiano; and one grandson, Angelo J. Paiano.

 

Angelo married Angela Calderone on April 17, 1937, in Italy. Angela died on August 17, 1971.

Surviving are three daughters, Caterina Multari of Mishawaka, Raffaela Scarcella of Australia and Maria Grazia Panuccio of Italy; one son, Frank Paiano of Mishawaka; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Concetta Latorre and Giuseppina Panza both of Italy.

 

Angelo came to Mishawaka in 1960. He was a tailor for Richmond Brothers for 18 years, retiring in 1978. He was also a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church and DeAmici's Club.

 

The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 on Sunday August 14, 2005, in the Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th St. Mishawaka. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday August 15th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bavo's Catholic Church in Mishawaka, with the Rev. Robert Binta officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
