Edward William Palicki Sr., 72, of
Mayfair Place, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21,
2003. He was born on June 5, 1930, to Andrew and Clara (Jaroszewski)
Palicki, who preceded him in death.
On May 8, 1954, he married Georgian Gorka.
Edward is survived by his wife, Georgian; two daughters, Tina
(Mike) Bradley of South Bend and Patty (Mike) Leda
of Walkerton, Ind.; one son, Edward Palicki Jr. of South Bend;
six grandchildren, Adam, Sara, Ashley, Robert, Hannah and Blake;
and by a sister, Barb (Bob) Lehner of South Bend.
In October 1948, Edward entered into the
U.S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Palau until he was
honorably discharged in October 1952. He was a member of Holy
Family Catholic Church and American Legion 284. Edward retired in
1987 after 28 years on the South Bend Fire Department where he
had been a captain.
Visitation will be today, Jan. 23, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
