Antoinette M. “Toni” Palmer, 87, of Mishawaka, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006, in her home. Toni was born on November 18, 1918, in Waarschoot, Belgium, to the late Valere and Estelle (Meire) De Paepe. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne Moraschi.

 

As Antoinette M. Palmer she married Claude H. Palmer on December 18, 1941, in Mishawaka. He died on September 6, 2000. Toni is survived by one niece, Mary Ann Dewald of Mishawaka; five great-nieces and nephews, Jim and Della Dewald, Debby and Farrell Holland, Sandy and Nick DeCicco, Linda and Dennis O'Donnell, and George V. Dewald and Linda Buchtel. Also surviving are 15 great-great-nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Deadmond of South Bend.

 

Toni was employed as a bookkeeper for the Mishawaka Farmers Dairy for 25 years, retiring in 1962. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church and its Resurrection Choir, the Daughters of Isabella, Eberhart Ladies Golf Association and the Robin Hood Golf Association, and the Dairy Maids Club. She was also a graduate of St. Bavo School and Mishawaka High School. Toni will be remembered as a generous, caring and fun-loving lady who will be missed terribly but never forgotten.

 

The family will receive friends today, August 18th, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where wake prayers will be recited at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 19th, at noon in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Binta officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.

 

The family would also like to thank Jeannine Campbell and all of her “helping angels” for their loving care shown to Toni. And finally, a special thank you to Toni's two wonderful neighbors, Ceaser and Cindy. Contributions in memory of Toni may be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church.
