Patrick A. "Pat" Paluzzi, 50, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., beloved father, brother, son and uncle, who will be greatly missed by his family and friends, passed away on Thursday, April 10, in Las Vegas.

 

He was born on Aug. 11, 1952, in Mishawaka, the son of Joseph C. and Amelia "Nellie" Paluzzi, and had lived in the Michiana area for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and by his older brother, Nicholas.

 

A 1970 graduate of Penn High School, Pat was active in football, wrestling and track. After graduation and starting out on the loading docks of Scottlad Foods, Inc., Pat worked his way up in the industry to operations manager of transportation before moving to Phoenix, Ariz., and then Las Vegas, where he continued in that field of employment. Pat's interests included playing softball, tailgating and attending Notre Dame home football games, seeing the Chicago Cubs play at Wrigley Field, and watching a Penn High School football game when he was in town. He was always ready to have a good time and enjoy himself with his family and friends.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Clayton of Las Vegas; his mother, Amelia "Nellie" Paluzzi of Osceola, Ind.; four brothers, Joseph (Kim) of South Bend, Ind., Mark (Kathy) of Las Vegas, Christopher (LeAnn) of Osceola and Geoffrey (Beverly) of Mishawaka; three sisters, Angie Paluzzi, Janet Kelsey (Robert) and Beth Lisenko (Jerry), all of Mishawaka; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Services: Cremation has taken place in Las Vegas. Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne handled the arrangements. A private family gathering will be held.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
