James R. Papandrea

May 5, 1911 - Aug. 5, 1997

James R. Papandrea, 86, of Linden Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, in his residence.

He was born on May 5, 1911, in Plainfield, N.J., to Rocco and Carmela Papandrea, who preceded him in death. He had lived in this area since 1930.

James was an owner/operator of several restaurants in the South Bend and Mishawaka area for thirty-five years.

He married the former Rose Trimboli on November 25, 1934, in South Bend, Ind. Surviving along with Rose are a daughter, Carmela Shanahan of Hudson, Ohio; and a son, James R. Papandrea of St. Joseph, Mich.; five grandchildren, Michelle Dolciato, Bridget Shanahan and Michael Shanahan, all of Hudson, Ohio, Ann Stites of Plainfield, Ill., and Christopher Papandrea of St. Joseph, Mich.; two sisters, Josephine and Teresa Papandrea, both of Italy; and by a brother, Rosario Papandrea of Italy.

James was a member of the Diloreto Club and St. Monica Catholic Church.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where a wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in St. Monica Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Hospice.
