Harry A Parker, Sr.

Oct. 1, 1921 - Aug. 28, 1996

Harry A. Parker, Sr., 74, of 62612 Constantine Rd., Constantine, Mich., passed away, Aug. 28, in his home, following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Berrien County, Mich., to Charles and Della (Hood) Parker. On Jan. 16, 1944, he married Florence Brewer, in Niles, Mich. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1996.

He served in the U.S. Army, during World War II, in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was employed as a shipping and receiving clerk for United Tool and Engineering and the Continental Can Company in Three Rivers, Mich., retiring in 1985.

Surviving are three daughters, Roberta and Pastor James Wertz of Millington, Mich., Annette and Timothy Miller of Sturgis, Mich., and Betty Westfall of White Pigeon, Mich.; three sons, Kenneth and Pamela Parker and Harry Jr. and Linda Parker, both of Constantine, Mich. and Brady and Cynthia Parker of Centreville, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; three brothers, Murray Parker and William Parker, both of Niles and Charles Parker of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Juanita Farmer of Niles.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Relatives and friends may call from noon to 9 p.m., Friday, at the Eley Funeral Home, 280 S. Washington St., Constantine, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, in the Bible Baptist Church in Constantine, with Pastor Alan Lickfeldt and Pastor James Wertz, officiating. Burial will be in the Sumnerville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Co. Hospice or to Constantine Rescue. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
