Alan D. Patrick, 58, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 7 a.m., Sunday, November 25, 2001, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Patrick was born on December 23, 1942, in South Bend, IN, to Dolphus and Opal (Pollitt) Patrick, who both preceded him in death. He was employed as an electrician for 33 years with the I.B.E.W. Local #153.

On August 19, 2000, in South Bend, IN, he married Cynthia A. McNamara, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Michael A. (Dianne) Patrick of South Bend, IN, Kevin T. (Tracy) Patrick of Elkhart, IN; four stepchildren, Carmel L. (Michael) Hollars of South Bend, IN, Christopher W. McNamara of Long Island, NY, James E. (Susan) McNamara of Niles, MI, Patrick M. (Lisa) McNamara of Mishawaka, IN; fifteen grandchildren; three sisters, Joan (Francis) Ponder of Bay City, MI, Linda (Paul) Carter of South Bend, IN, Sueann Patrick of Michigan; two brothers, Lee (Marion) Patrick of Niles, MI, Thomas (Carole) Patrick of Texas; by several nieces and nephews; and by many children that were very fond of him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2001, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mr. Patrick was very active in the I.B.E.W. Local #153 Union where he held several offices. He was a scout leader for the Boy Scouts Troop #429. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the Boy Scouts Troop #429.
