South Bend, Ind. — Mrs. Genevieve A. Patterson, 79, of Greenview Ave., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, in Regency Place following an illness. Genevieve was born on January 18, 1924, in Coffeyville, Kan., to the late Jame and Leona Marie (Straub) Curran.

On November 11, 1944, she married Robert A. Patterson, he passed away on February 23, 2001. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (John) Dorbin of Mishawaka, Ind.; three sons, Robert A. Jr. (Sandra) of Aiken, S.C., Patrick M. (Mary) of South Bend, and Dennis J. of Goshen, Ind.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret "Tootie" (Robert) Nemeth of South Bend; two brothers, James Curran of Highland, Ind., and Paul (Clarice) Curran of South Bend.

A Mass of Christian Burial Rite will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Charles Lavely, CSC, officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. at Ironwood Dr., where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Patterson was involved in many organizations including The Lady Knights of Santa Maria Council #553, the Fourth Degree Fr. J. A. Nieuwland Assembly #0242 of the Knights of Columbus, Daughters of Isabella Notre Dame Circle, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, Ancient Order of Hibernians Auxiliary, and she a was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish.
