Helen E. Pauwels

Helen E. Pauwels, 63, of 56523 Crescent Dr., Osceola, died after a long illness at 5am today in the Ridgedale Nursing Home, South Bend.

 

She was born June 4, 1910, in Walkerton, and had lived in Osceola 24 years, moving from South Bend.  On January 20, 1934, in South Bend, as Helen E. Cripe, she was married to Raymond Pauwels, who survives.

 

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Grabarz of Oconomowoc WI and Mrs. Larry Nifong of Granger; two sons, Richard A. Pauwels of Mishawaka and Charles G. Pauwels of South Bend; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. J. Vincent Smyth of Crystal Lake IL, Mrs. Harvey Holmes and Mrs. Alice Shultz, both of South Bend and Mrs. Bruce Hamman of Crawfordsville IN; and two brothers, Clifton I. Cripe of Evansville IN, and Cecil A. Cripe of South Bend and a step brother, Walter Rhodes of South Bend.

 

Friends may call in the Warner Funeral Home after 7pm today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9pm Sunday.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  Mrs. Pauwels was a member of the Queen of Peace Church and the Rosary Society of the church.
