Martha C. Pauwels

December 1, 1910 – April 30, 1995

MISHAWAKA – Martha C. Pauwels, 84, of Grape Road, died at 8:28am Sunday in St Joseph’s Medical Center, South Bend.

Mrs. Pauwels was born December 1, 1910, in South Bend.  On June 10, 1939, in South Bend, as Martha Coussens, she married Maurice P. Pauwels.  He died September 13, 1981.  She is survived by two daughters, Marie Pauwels of Mishawaka and Judy Pauwels of Tacoma WA; two sons, Joseph of Mishawaka and Robert of Portage; five grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Graboden and Mary Coussens, both of Mishawaka; and a brother, Julius Coussens of Mishawaka.

She was a member of Erskine Park Women’s Golf League, South Bend, and St Pius X Catholic Church, Granger.

Services will be at 11am Wednesday in the church.  Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Tuesday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 3:30pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shelter for the Homeless, South
