Maurice P. Pauwels

December 6, 1910 – September 13, 1981

Maurice P. Pauwels, 70, of 54165 Grape, died at 10:30am Sunday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a sudden illness.

Born on December 6, 1910, in South Bend, he lived in this area all of his life and was retired from the Studebaker and Avanti Corporations.  On June 10, 1939, in South Bend, he married Martha Coussens, who survives along with two daughter, Miss Marie Pauwels of Mishawaka and Miss Judy Pauwels of Madison WI; two sons, Joseph of Mishawaka and Robert of Portage IN: five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harold Smith of South Bend; and a brother, Eugene Pauwels of Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the Hahn-Peffley-DeVos Funeral Home.  He was a member of St Joseph’s Church in South Bend and the Erskine Park Men’s Club.
