Joseph Pawlowski: (Michigan City News Dispatch 6/18/1954)


Joseph F. Pawlowski, 55, 2316 Buffalo St., died at 4 a.m. today at his home after suffering a heart attack. The fire department resuscitator squad was called, but was unable to revive him. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stanislaus Church with Msgr. Julian Doktor officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The funeral service is being delayed until Tuesday pending word from two sons in the Army overseas. Mr. Pawlowski was secretary of Lodge 57, Polish Alma Mater of America. Members of that organization will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. Monday in the Ott Funeral Home, where friends may call Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday until the hour of the service. Mr. Pawlowski was born Nov. 25, 1898, in Germany, the son of Valentine and Angela Nowakowski Pawlowski. He was married in 1920 to Tillie Klosinski, who survives. A resident of this city since 1912, he had been employed at Royal Metal Manufacturing Co. for 20 years. In addition to the widow, survivors are four sons – Sgt. Robert, U.S. Army in Korea; Pvt. Donald, U.S. Army in Japan, and Francis and Kenneth, both of this city; a daughter, Mrs. William Vocke, Valparaiso; seven grandchildren; five brothers – Louis, Stanley, Valentine and George, all of this city, and John, Topeka, Kan., and three sisters – Mrs. Joseph Borkowski and Mrs. Walter Liebig, both of this city, and Mrs. Lyle Garver, Gary. Mr. Pawlowski was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
