John A. Peczkowski

January 27, 1888 - August 6, 1955

 

John A. Peczkowski, 605 N. John St., died at noon Saturday en route to St Joseph Hospital after suffering a heart attack in his home.

 

He was born in Ladek Poland, January 27, 1888, and came here 50 years ago.  He was married here in 1913 to Bertha Buchowski, who survives.  He was employed 33 years at the Studebaker Corp plant here as a metal finisher.  Surviving are four sons, Edward, Daniel, Bernard and John; three daughters, Mrs. Mollie Sokol, Mrs. Leona Jardanek and Mrs. Delores Pajakowski, all of South Bend; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Lucian, of South Bend, and Stephen in Poland, and three sisters, Mrs. Victoria Zawol, Mrs. Mary Stawicki and Mrs. Genevieve Rychlinski in Poland. He was for many years a trustee of St Stanislaus Catholic Church and was for 25 years financial secretary of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Society 234.

 

Friends may call in the Kaniewski & Sons Chapel from 4pm today until the funeral at 9am Tuesday in St Stanislaus Church.  Rev. Albin Hosinski, CSC, assistant pastor and cousin of Mrs. Peczkowski, will sing the requiem high mass.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Funeral Notes

The pallbearers at the funeral of John Peczkowski, 605 N. Johnson St., who died Saturday, will be his nephews, Jack Bukowski, Edwin Kapan, Edwin Klimek, Joseph Peczkowski, Robert Peczkowski and Edward Frankiewicz.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today in the Kaniewski & Son Chapel.
