Herbert Hiram Peer

SOUTH BEND - Herbert Hiram Peer, 82, of 843 S. 28th St., died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in Healthwin Hospital & Nursing Home. Mr. Peer was the former operator of several Hi's Standard stations and retired from Kreamo Bakery as a mechanic. He was born June 20, 1913, in Barnhill, Ill., and lived in South Bend since 1959.

 

On March 20, 1937, in South Bend, he married Esther Irene Matz. She died Sept. 27, 1991. He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Sanders of Phoenix; two sons, Larry C. of Osceola and Herbert D. of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Isabell Walters of Camdenton, Mo. A son, Hiram D., a grandson, Todd Peer, and great-grandson, Larry Corlowicz, all preceded him in death.

 

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date. There will be no visitation.
