Mary A. Pellico

Oct. 26, 1922 - Oct. 14, 2000

Mary A. Pellico ,77, of S. Franklin Street passed away at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Pellico retired from Indiana Workforce Development where she had been employed for 47 years. Mary was an avid Notre Dame enthusiast. She was born on Oct. 26, 1922, in South Bend to Frank and Bessie Demske. On Jan. 19, 1946, in South Bend as Mary Demske, she married Victor A. Pellico Sr. He died on Aug. 18, 1978. Mary was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Geyer.

Surviving are two sons, Victor A. (Lynda Lou) Pellico Jr. Of South Bend and Gary (Karen) Pellico of Carmel, Ind.; three grandchildren, Victor Anthony "Tony" (Kirsten Gustafson) Pellico III, Matthew Paul "Bubba" (Sarah Joy) Pellico, and Valynda Lou "Dee Dee" Pellico; two great-grandchildren, Victor Anthony Pellico IV and Ashlee Marie Pellico; and a brother, Frank (Yolanda) Demske of South Bend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Our Lady of Hungary School Scholarship Fund.
