Thomas W. Peters    May 9, 1933 – Dec. 26, 1988

Services for Thomas W. Peters, 55, of 1014 E. Oakside St. who died at 1:48 a.m. Monday in his home after an illness, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthews Cathedral.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s College Memorial Fund.

Mr. Peters was director of maintenance at Saint Mary’s College.  He was born May 9, 1933, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.  On Aug 20, 1955 in South Bend, he married Mildred McCallum, who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Virginia VanDeVeire and Mary E. Wain, both of Elkhart, and Elizabeth Campeau of South Bend; a son Daniel T. of Reading, Pa.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Verlodt of Mishawaka and Judiann Peters-Johnson of Minneapolis; and a brother, Richard of Virginia Beach, Va.  He was He was a member of the church, where he served in the Ushers Club and as a Eucharistic minister, and was grand knight of Knights of Columbus Council 5221.  He was a veteran of the Korean War.
