Odessa W. Pfaff

Mrs. Odessa Pfaff, 73, of 23303 Lakeview Drive, Edwardsburg, formerly of South Bend, died Saturday night after an extended illness. She was the widow of John W. Pfaff, a South Bend attorney and Indiana Court of Appeals judge. She was born Feb. 16, 1906 in Chesterton, and moved to South Bend in her early teens. She was a graduate of South Bend High School and attended Hanover College.

 

She married John W. Pfaff in 1926. The couple lived in South Bend until her husband’s retirement from the Indiana Court of Appeals in 1970 when they moved to their home at Eagle Lake, Edwardsburg. He died in 1977. Surviving are two sons, John W. Jr. of Fairfax, Va. And Robert A. of Elkhart, and eight grandchildren; a sister Florence H. Robinson of Elkhart, and a brother, James D. Walker of South Bend. She was a member of Eastern Star, the South Bend Panhellenic Society, the Indiana Women’s Republication Club and the Eagle Lake Yacht Club.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church, with burial in Adamsville Cemetery, Adamsville, Mich. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Paul F. Mayhew Funeral Home, in Edwardsburg. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society.
