Phyllis P. Pfeiffer, 75, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, in her home in South Bend, Ind.

Phyllis was born in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 17, 1926. She graduated from New Trier High School in Chicago, and then attended Goodman College for the Performing Arts. The Pfeiffer family moved to South Bend in 1956. Since 1956 Phyllis was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Phyllis was also involved in many community activities. She was past president of Parents Without Partners, was a Special Olympics organizer, and supported local charities and civic events.

Phyllis loved to travel and visited many countries throughout the world, always returning with unique gifts for her friends and family.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Pfeiffer; her sons, Anthony and Tobey, and their families. Friends and family of Phyllis knew her to be loving, caring and generous. She gave the gift of love and was loved by many. She will be missed and remembered by all.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept., 30, in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1021 Manchester Drive, South Bend.
