WALKERTON - Richard L. Pfeiffer, 81, of Walkerton, IN, passed away at 7:36 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. He was born on July 12, 1926, in Bremen, IN, to Forest M. and Iva Ola (Feichter) Pfeiffer.

On April 18, 1947, in South Bend, he married the former Lucetta M. Schoff, who survives. Mr. Pfeiffer is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucetta; a daughter, Terry Greene of Teegarden, IN; a son, Rick (Denise) Pfeiffer of Lakeville, IN; four grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Wright of Lakeville, IN, Kelly (Joe) Stanley of North Liberty, IN, Christine (Don Derda) Pfeiffer of Lakeville, IN, and Kimberly Greene of Anderson, IN; and one great-granddaughter, Arianna Stanley. A sister, Betty Thornburg of Mishawaka, IN, and a brother, Forrest W. Pfeiffer of Rochester, IN, also survive him. Two brothers, Devon and Willis Pfeiffer, preceded Mr. Pfeiffer in death. Mr. Pfeiffer served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Uniroyal-Ball Band after 38 years of service.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Morris Cemetery, Walkerton. Rev. Steve Cox will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
