Hazel L. Phillips

June 16, 1884 – August 5, 1977

Mrs. Hazel L. Phillips, 83, of 1704 Marine, died at 2am today in Healthwin Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born on June 16, 1884, in Hicksville OH, and lived here most of her life.  Her husband, Ray Phillips, died in 1967.  Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ferne Hellman and Mrs. Irene Jones, both of South Bend; Mrs. Dolly Poznanski of Mishawaka and Mrs. Bernice Durbin of Lake Worth FL; a son, Gerald Searfoss of Chicago; 20 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ione Fritz of Winamac.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Sunday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan.  Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Buchanan Seventh-day Adventist Church.
