August Pieters
1884 – April
18, 1960
After an illness
of two weeks, August Pieters, 76, of 213 E. 13th St.,
died at 3:30pm Friday in St Joseph’s Hospital.
He was born in Adegem,
Belgium, and came here from Belgium 42 years ago. He
married Mrs. Rosalie DeMetz, in 1920 and she died in 1950.
Surviving are two
stepsons, Raymond and Achille DeMetz, both of Mishawaka and one
brother, Henry Pieters, of Belgium. Mr. Pieters was a
retired Ball Band employee.
Friends may call
in the DeVos Chapel and the funeral services will take place at 10:45am
Monday in the chapel. Rt Rev. Msgr Otto J. Keller, pastor
of St Bavo’s Church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Sunday in
the chapel.
