Camiel Pieters

Camiel Pieters, 93, of Glendale Calif, and formerly of South Bend, died Wednesday in a Glendale hospital, following an illness of one week. He was born in Waarschoot, Belgium and came to South Bend from that country in 1902.He lived here until 10 years ago.

 

Mr. Pieters married Emma Neyrinck in Belgium. She died in South Bend 22 years ago.

 

He later married Mrs. Marie Naessens who died 10 years ago.

 

He was a retired employee of the Ball Band plant in Mishawaka. Surviving are two sons, Edward Peters of South Bend, and Raymond Peters of Pasadena, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Randolph of Glendale, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call in the DeVos Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, after 7 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Jerome Bunk, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral Chapel.
