Albert Joseph Pighi

Mishawaka - Albert J. Pighi, 75, of 105 E. Ninth St., died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Medical Care Center following an illness.

 

He retired in 1970 after 45 years as a general foreman at Uniroyal Inc.

 

He was born Dec 2, 1910 in Mishawaka.

 

On July 14, 1934. In Mishawaka, he married Clara Raugh in St. Joseph Catholic Church. She survives along with a sister, Louise Zehring of Mishawaka and a brother, John Pighi of Mishawaka.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Homes, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Mr. Pighi was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the church’s Usher Club, Harvest House and the foreman’s Club at Uniroyal. He was a Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1878, a former fourth degree officer, past Grand Knight and a member of Father Nieuland’s Assembly.
