Ervin J. Pilarski

June 16, 1916 - Nov. 7, 1998

 

Ervin J. Pilarski, 82, of Miami Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 3:14 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Memorial Hospital.

 

He was born on June 16, 1916, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

 

Mr. Pilarski retired from the AM General Corpor-ation in 1985 after 39 years of service. He was also a former employee of the former Studebaker Corporation.

 

On July 7, 1952, in South Bend, he married Edna R. Drubenstot, who survives.

 

He is also survived by a son, Gerald Stull of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Nancy D. Hegland of South Bend; two stepsons, William R. Akin of South Bend and Ronald F. Akin of Granger, Ind.; two grandsons, Marc Stull of Mishawaka, Ind., and Daniel J. Stull of South Bend; and by eight step-grandchildren including, Gary Hegland of South Bend, Anthony W. Akin of Des Moines, Iowa, Nicole M. Akin and Rebecca J. Akin, both of Granger; and by a sister, Henrietta Stachowiak of South Bend.

 

Mr. Pilarski was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Pilarski.

 

Mr. Pilarski was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and Polish National Alliance Lodge #83.

 

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road, where a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with burial to fol-low at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
